Betty Clayton McElroy

Betty L. Clayton McElroy age 77 of Camden, TN, died Monday, October 7, 2024, at her residence.

 Betty was a member of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church where she had previously served as a church treasurer and taught Sunday School to the little ones. She enjoyed roller skating, cooking, making crafts, dancing, and water skiing; but her favorite activity was playing with her great grandson Harlan. Betty had worked in accounting for many years.

 She married Eddie McElroy March 20, 1978, who survives of Camden.

 Betty was born March 6, 1947, in Puryear, TN, to the late James D. “J.D.” Clayton and to the late Dorothy L. Jackson Clayton.

 In addition to her husband, she was also survived by a daughter, Sandy McElroy Tyler of Paris, TN; a son, Anthony McElroy of Mansfield, TN; a brother, Joe D. (Diane) Clayton of Paris, TN; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann Kyle; and three sons, twins, John W. Kyle, and James W. Kyle, and Eddie A. McElroy II.

 Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church 2940 Ephesus Church Rd., Hollow Rock, TN 38342. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church with Jonathan Kee officiating.

 Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Danny Conger, John Dale Conger, Sammy Conger, Mike Stanfill, Daniel Tyler and Randy McElroy. Named as honorary pallbearers are Billy Sutton and Paul Wayne Sutton.

 Burial will follow in the Ephesus Church Cemetery.
