Betty Barnhill

Betty Mavis Barnhill, age 84 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in Paris, TN.

She was owner & operator of the Fina gas station on Market Street in Paris from 1970-1993.  She also formerly worked at PML in Paris.

Betty was born August 8, 1934, in Big Sandy, TN, to the late Otto Lafayette Phifer and the late Lonnie Farmer Phifer.

She was married November 5, 1966, to J.C. Barnhill, who preceded her in death on August 18, 1977.

She is survived by one son, Johney (Denise) Barnhill of Paris, TN; one stepson, Mike (Teresa) Barnhill of Paris, TN; four grandchildren, Nikki (Chris) Klopfenstein of Henry, TN, Michael S. Barnhill of Norfolk, VA, Megan D. Barnhill of Paris, TN, and Hannah N. Barnhill of Paris, TN; two step grandchildren, Tarrah (Adam) Young of Texas, and Clint (Amanda) Barnhill of Paris, TN; and one step great granddaughter, Maddie Kate Barnhill of Paris, TN.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, baby girl Phifer; five brothers, Howard Phifer, Mason Phifer, Albert Phifer, Cliff Phifer, and Bobby Phifer; and one grandchild, Cameron E. Medlock.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  The body is to be cremated.  A memorial visitation will be held Friday, September 7, 2018, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
