Bertie Marie Hamilton

Bertie Marie Hamilton, age 81 of Springville, TN, died Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Henry County Medical Center.

Bertie Marie was a member of Russwood Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in the church.  She was retired from an Advertising Agency.    She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.  Bertie Marie was an avid book reader and loved watching crime shows like Columbo and Matlock on TV.

Born November 9, 1935 in Gallant, AL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Clifton Freeman and the late Clarice Beatrice Dockery Freeman.

Bertie Marie was married on October 19, 1957 to Jerol Hamilton and he survives of Springville, TN.   She is also survived by three daughters, Renee’ Sims of Highland, MI, Ronda (Harold) Pruitt of Dexter, KY, and Maggie Hamilton of Ft. Wayne, IN;  one sister, Pauline Davis of Taylors, SC; one brother-in-law, Bill Good of Michigan;  11 grandchildren, Kristen Yutzy, Vanessa Sims, Brooke Sims, Stacie Crowell, Sherry Wells, Matthew Pruitt, Bradley Wells, Michele Hamilton, Kimberly Bennett, Mary Hamilton and Suzie Hamilton; and 9 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Bertie Marie was also preceded in death by a son, Randall Hamilton; three sisters, Louise Thorne, Ruth Motdoch, and Nelda Good; and one brother, James Freeman.

Arrangements are be handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Friday March 31, 2017 from 4-7 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home and Saturday April 1, 2017 from 12-2 pm at Russwood Baptist Church with the funeral service at the church Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Raymond Eaton officiating.   Family members will serve as Pallbearers.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
