Bernice Faye Holt, age 82 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, May 2, 2020, at her residence.
She was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church, and former member of Trinity Methodist Church. Bernice was a homemaker, and formerly worked at the Townhouse restaurant, Nathan’s, and Hoofmans. She received a lifetime achievement award for her individual collections of donations, and candy bar sales, that she raised for the March of Dimes equaling over $250,000.00. Her latest passion was raising money for local Veterans.
Bernice was born August 15, 1937, in Paris, TN, to the late T.G. “Doc” Palmer and to the late Lillian Elizabeth “Bessie” Weaver Palmer.
She was married on December 31, 1962, for 57 years to David Edward Holt, who survives of Paris, TN.
Along with her husband, she is survived by one son, David T. (Jackie) Holt of Paris, TN; one sister, Elizabeth (Paul) Hannings of Martin, TN; two grandchildren, Derek (Katie) Holt of Germantown, TN, and Devan (Paxton) Holt of Augusta, GA; one great grandchild, Kinley Holt; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Palmer.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A private graveside service will be held with Emily Walker officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, in Paris, TN
