Bernard “Bernie” Wofford, age 74, of Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.
He was married June 21, 1997 to Trudy Linn Wofford who preceded in death January 1, 2001.
Bernie was owner and operator of Wofford's Electric Service in Paris, TN for 40 years. He was a US Air Force Veteran of Korea and served in the National Guard. He formerly worked at Midland Brake and Lingle Corporation. Bernie was the former Administrator of Paris Moose Lodge #1915. He received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, (the highest honor in Loyal Order of the Moose). He was a Life member of V.F.W., Amvets, and Elks Lodge, and he was a Charter Member of the American Legion. Bernie was a 50 year member of the Springville Masonic Lodge #130. He was a Royal Arch Mason, Cryptic Mason, Knight Templar Mason and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Al Chymia Shriner and member of Martha Chapter 155 Eastern Star.
Bernie was born June 3, 1940 in Ft. Henry, TN to Lucille Sexton Clendenin of Paris, TN and the late Carl Wofford.
Besides his mother, Bernie is also survived by his Two Daughters, Carrie (David) Johnson of Paris, Tenn, Crista (Eddie) White of Paris, Tenn; One Sister, Carolyn (James) Thornhill of South Haven, Miss; Two Brothers, Oscar Clendenin of Buchanan, Tenn, Jimmy (Marcia) Clendenin of Paris, Tenn; Grandchildren, Kailyn and Kendal Johnson of Paris, TN, Chandler Moseley of Murfreesboro, TN, Jackson and McKenna White of Paris, TN; and Special Friend, Brenda Peck of Murray, KY.
Besides his Wife and Father, Bernie was also preceded in death by a Brother, David Wofford and Step Father, John Clendenin.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Visitation will continue on Wednesday after 12 pm at Paris Convention Center. The Funeral Service will be at Paris Convention Center at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
Kenny Carr will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Sykes, Brad Willoughby, Johnny Mack Palmer, Mike Snow, Joe Allen, and Fred Lindahl. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Paris Moose Lodge #1915.
Interment will be at Wofford Cemetery in Big Rock, Tenn.
