Ben Gaines Jr.

March 25, 1958 — December 17, 2013

Ben Marlin Gaines Jr., son of Ben Marlin Gaines and Ludie Montgomery Gaines (deceased), died on December 17, 2013.  He was 55 years old.

Ben was born in McKenzie, TN March 25, 1958.  He graduated from McKenzie High School Class in 1976.  He was a leader in the furniture industry for many years as an executive with Gaines Manufacturing and founder of New Generations Furniture.  Most recently, he was an entrepreneur responsible for the Merchants Outlet Mall in McKenzie, TN where he treated every customer like a member of his family.

Ben was also passionate in his philanthropy; serving on the board of trustees for Bethel University, arranging annual fundraisers and events for Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center, as well as being a strong supporter of  local communities through helping to provide funding for creation of a local church and classrooms at a local school in Jackson, TN.

He is survived by his sons, Ben Marlin Gaines III aged 23 and Bailey Ward Gaines aged 19.  Both are currently attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  He is also survived by his sisters Jodie Gaines (Jeff) Johnson of McKenzie, TN and Patricia Gaines (Robert) Kriebel of Franklin, TN and nieces, Jennifer (Rory) Lacey and Jessica Johnson and nephews, Scott Kriebel, Jake Johnson and John Johnson as well as a loving extended family.

Visitation is on Friday December 20 at  Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, TN from 5-7 PM.

The funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Dan Camp  and Wendell Moore at Antioch United Methodist Church, 3116 W Antioch Rd, Springville, TN 38256 Saturday December 21 at 11 AM.  Another visitation will be offered one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
