A devoted Army Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Barbara Jo Reniker went to join her husband, Gene, in Heaven on 21 January 2022 after a short illness.
She was 89 years old. She was born on the family farm in Carthage, MO to Cecil Neatherry and Ruth Blinn and spent her youth in Southwest Missouri.
She graduated from Neosho High School and attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M before she went on to work at Camp Crowder, MO.
On 11 August 1952, she married Gene B. Reniker in Bentonville, Arkansas. For the next 68 years, she shared adventures with him that took them around the world while raising three sons, through 18 moves in 33 years and was his strength & his love.
She is survived by her three sons; Roger L. Reniker, retired Police Officer City of Paducah KY and wife Lesia of Hickory KY, Lieutenant Colonel (ret) Gregory G. Reniker and wife Sherry of Paris, TN, Lieutenant Colonel (ret) Perry A. Reniker and wife Teresa of Georgetown, TX, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Col (ret) Gene B. Reniker, her father, Cecil Neatherry, her mother Ruth Blinn and her grandson Ian C. Reniker.
Barbara Jo Reniker concluded her journey as an Army Wife in 1984, residing in Paris, TN with Gene to spend time with her family.
She was a proud mother of three, who all graduated from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and went on to have distinguished careers serving this nation in Law Enforcement and the U.S. Army.
She was the family genealogist & was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Paris, TN.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan 26

at 4:30pm – 6:30pm with service to follow at 6:30pm, at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, TN, with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating. Interment will follow on Jan 27
th
at 1:00pm at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Fort Campbell Blvd in Hopkinsville, KY, with Rev. Richard E. Davis MSG (ret) officiating.
