Barbara Ruth Dyson Hall

Barbara Ruth Dyson Hall, age 87 of Puryear, TN, passed away at 6:58 am on March 24, 2023, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House. 

Barbara was born in Paducah, KY, on January 24, 1936, to the late Anderson Leslie Dyson and the late Etta Mae Stiers Dyson.  

Barbara is survived by her sister, Betty Stewart of Paducah, KY; brother, Carl Dyson of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Debbie Wray of Bloomington, IN; son, Ron Scott (Toni) of Cape Girardeau, MO; daughter, Barbie Krizan (John) of Portage, WI; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. 

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dorvan Glen Hall; son, Michael Scott; daughter, Teresa King; and three grandsons.

Barbara, a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, retired from retail sales at Goody’s Department Store in 2015.  Coworkers described Barbara as competitive in sales, having a great work ethic, well-loved by her regular clients, and usually seen in makeup, long skirts, and high heels.  She was recognized as Associate of the Year for Top Sales and given the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Sales.  In her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed working in her flower beds, nurturing indoor plants, arguing with her husband, and taking afternoon naps with her Boston Terrier, Violet. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A celebration of life memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 12:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home for both Barbara and her late husband, Glen Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House, 803, Poplar St, Murray, KY 42071.  

The children of Barbara Hall wish to thank the fifth-floor nursing staff at Murray Calloway County Hospital and the staff at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House for their compassionate care of our mother.
