Arlene Workman, age 97, of Ridgeland, SC, formerly of Paris, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, at her home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Paris. She was a member of the Jasper County Senior Center in Ridgeland, SC. She loved her cats.
Arlene was born November 16, 1920, in Michigan, to the late John Wesley Linder and the late Ida Brummitt Linder.
She was married April 26, 1958, to Ralph Workman, her husband of 40 years, who preceded her in death on March 18, 1998.
She is survived by one son-in-law, John McDougal of Paris, TN; two stepdaughters; Debbie (Ricky) Shankle of Paris, TN and Cherry (David) Barber of Chattanooga; and six grandchildren, Lesa Scott (Joe) Patrum, John (Sabrina) Scott, Michael (Donna) Scott, Rachel (Wes) Hundall, Ryan (Tara) Aston, and Nikki Scott.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death byone daughter, Robin McDougal; and three sons, Billy Joe Scott, Wayne Scott, and Michael “Mickey” Scott;
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 West Adams Street, Ridgeland, SC 29936. Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Dr. Johnathan Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local animal shelter of your choice.
