Ann Caldwell

Ann L. Caldwell, age 94 of Paris, TN, died Monday, June 27, 2022, at her residence.

She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree.  Her passion was her family, children and grandchildren.  It carried into her career, her dedication to the children of her church, daycare centers and beyond.  Her love for children was without limits.

Ann was a member, the first female elder and first female Administrative Board Chair of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Paris.  She retired as a teacher at the vocational school here in Henry County, where she taught Child Care and Guidance for 10 years. She was a member and officer of the Paris Henry County Retired Teachers Association, volunteer of the Paris Henry County Heritage Center, volunteer for the PSSD Family Enrichment Center and she received the 2008 Governor Volunteer Star Award.

Ann was born August 10, 1927, in Hazel, KY, to the late Joseph Earl Littleton and the late Sally Broom Baker Littleton.

She was married June 28, 1949, to William Bowles “Bill” Caldwell, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 23, 2009.

She is survived by one daughter, Sally (Harry) McCall of Paris; two sons, Bo (Kathy) Caldwell of Paris, and Alf (Jane) Caldwell of Ellenton, SC; eight grandchildren, Christy Caldwell, Scott (Erin) Caldwell, Ivan Caldwell, Amy Peterson, Beth (Jeff) Arrington, Taylor Peterson, Lane McCall, and Tyler (Rebecca) McCall; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Joe Baker Littleton.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at First Christian Church, 101 S. Poplar Street, Paris, TN 38242.  The funeral service will be Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 1:00 pm at First Christian Church with Caren Teichmann officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
