Retired Deluxe Check Printers typesetter Anita Joy Pierce, 83, of Paris died Monday, May 27, 2013, at Plumley Rehabilitation Center in Paris.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris. There will then be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday in Millers Chapel Cemetery in Dyersburg, with David Alan Jackson officiating both services.
Chosen as pallbearers are Rayburn Thomason, Scott Greer, Steve Delaney and Frank Parker.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Born May 6, 1930, in West Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of William Staats Sr., and Anna Hurlock Staats, now both deceased.
She was married on Oct. 27, 1956, to Nat Pierce, who died Jan. 22, 2012.
Pierce was a member of East Wood Church of Christ and a volunteer with the Henry County Medical Center Auxiliary. She retired after 30 years as a typesetter for Deluxe Check Printers in Pennsylvania, Mississippi and Georgia.
She leaves one son: Russell (Jill) Pierce of Camp Hill, Pa.; two brothers: William Staats Jr. and Winston Staats, both of Valley Forge, Pa.; two grandchildren: Holly Pierce and David Troutman, both of Camp Hill; and four great-grandchildren.
