Alvin Ray "Tweetie" Nolen

Alvin Ray “Tweetie” Nolen, age 69 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN.

He was a master logger, retired from Craig Forrest Products Company in Puryear.  Ray was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Paris.  He loved horses and trading horses and vehicles.

Ray was born January 6, 1950, in Paris, TN, to the late Alvin Earl Nolen and the late Velma Alice Beecham.

He was married in 1994 to Ruth Herndon Nolen, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter, Terra (Joe) Filipiak of Clarksville, TN; five sisters, Alice Spears of Paris, TN, Faye (Gerald) Lowery of Henry, TN, Earlina Matheny of Henry, TN, Gail (Jeff) Clayton of Buchanan, TN, and Patricia Williams of Henry, TN; two brothers, Dale Nolen of Buchanan, TN, and Melvin “Nubbin” (Karen) Nolen of Buchanan, TN; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Melisha Nolen; and one brother, Earl Dean Nolen.

Arrangements will be handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242.  The body is to be cremated.   Memorial visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the memorial service to begin at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with David French and Johnny Lee officiating. Military Honors will follow the memorial service.

Burial of cremains will take place following the service in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
