A graveside service for former beautician Alma Renda Cochran of Paris was planned at 11 a.m. today in Olive Branch Cemetery in northwest Henry County. Dale Gallimore was to officiate.

Visitation was Sunday.

Cochran, 95, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Paris Healthcare Center.

Born March 29, 1918, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lincoln Powers and Delcie Stalcup Powers.

She was married on Sept. 14, 1933, to Robert Terrell Cochran, who died April 11, 1995.

Cochran owned Harbor Acres beauty salon in Michigan. She was a member of Paris Community of Christ Church, where she served as district women’s leader and taught the women’s and senior classes.

She leaves three daughters: Joann Pottorff of Cedar Creek, Texas, Marlene Smith of Marshall, Texas and Renda (Lynn) Brown of Sodus, Mich.; one son: Robert R. “Dick” (Connie) Cochran of Paris; two sisters: Juanita Dean of Memphis and Faye Johnson of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters: Fara Fowler and Clara Schmit; and five brothers: Robert, Taft, Hardin, J.C., and John Wesley Powers.

Memorials may be made to Paris Community of Christ Church, 1404 Lone Oak Road, Paris.
