Allene (Mary Elizabeth) Clayton, age 89 of Cordova, TN, formerly of Paris, TN died Thursday February 18, 2016 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, TN
Allene was born February 14, 1927 in Buchanan, TN to the late Willie Boyd and the late Etna Jones Boyd.
She was married March 17, 1945 to Robert Charlie Clayton. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1997.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Randall “Randy” Clayton and sisters, Beatrice Cook, and Myrtle Cannady; brothers, Leon Boyd and Gene Boyd.
She is survived by her son, Donnie (Ellen) Clayton of Oakland Township, MI; sisters, Betty Carter of Paris, TN and Eva Pierce of Ohio; brother, Jimmy Boyd of Buchanan, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Clayton, Kelly (Chris) Kowske, Lisa (Mike) Mollan, and Jason (Sindy) Clayton; great-grandchildren, Christina and Jacob Clayton, Alayna and Lukas Kowske, and Samantha and Tyler Mollan.
Allene worked at Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, MI as a seamstress for 27 years.
Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home Saturday February 20, 2016 from 9 – 11 am with the funeral service at 11 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Lee officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandchildren, Ashley Clayton, Jason Clayton, Kelly Kowske, and Lisa Mollan, Brother, Jimmy Boyd, and Nephew, Chris Champion.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
