Alice Ball McCutcheon

Alice Ball McCutcheon, age 81, of Paris, TN, died Friday, July 5, 2024, at her residence.

She retired after 32 years from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Paris, where she was a practical nursing instructor and later Allied Health Coordinator. A graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, she was a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Chesemore Hospital and Henry County Medical Center in Paris, and Gibson General Hospital in Trenton before joining the staff at TCAT. She was a talented artist and painter and was involved with the Tennessee River Fine Arts League for many years and a founding member of the Paris-Henry County Arts Council, and a member of the Paris Woman's Club.

She was born January 9, 1943, in Jackson, TN, to the late Floyd Lee Ball and the late Virgie French Ball of Dyer, TN.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynn McCutcheon (Brian Cullen) of Paris, TN; one “bonus” daughter, Andra (Troy) Wiegand of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister-in-law, Edie (Russell) Henley of Niceville, Fla.; niece, Jill McCutcheon of Portland, Ore.; nephews, Russell (Bonnie) McCutcheon of Gettysburg, Pa., and Christopher Broach of Humboldt, TN; and family friends Carol Mannon, Fran Brown, and Martha Campbell, all of Paris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ann McCutcheon Broach; a brother-in-law, Gene McCutcheon; and a nephew, Tyler McCutcheon.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee 38242. The body was cremated. Visitation with family and friends will be on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 3:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.
