David Holbert

A memorial service is planned at 6 p.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home for self-employed carpenter David Kyle Holbert of Buchanan. Bruce Sorenson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service.

Holbert, 24, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Paris.

His body was to be cremated.

Born Sept. 2, 1989, in Orlando, Fla., he was the son of Jeff “Jimmy” Holbert of Buchanan and Teresa Renee Gandy of Roanoke, Ind.

Holbert worked with his father in home improvement. He loved to fish, cook, play computer games and loved to make people laugh, according to a family member.
